Babysitting Course

Babysitting Course Registration

During the summer months and school breaks, Routes Youth Centre offers opportunities for youth to take a Babysitting Course. This course covers important topics including infant care, child care, health and safety information and it is recognized by the Canada Safety Council. The course also features guest speakers as well as opportunities for hands-on learning.  The fee for the course is $50.

This March Break, there is one session available:

March Break 2024

Tuesday, March 12, 2024: 10am - 4:30pm
Wednesday, March 13, 2024: 10am - 5pm


To register for the 2-day Babysitting Course, participants must be at least 12-years-old (in the 2024 calendar year). The course consists of a total of 9 hours of instruction time, a 1-hour final exam on day 2, and time for breaks, lunch, and hands-on activities. Each participant will receive a Babysitting Manual to keep. Light lunch provided by Routes Youth Centre.
*To graduate from the Babysitting Course, participants must attend both days and successfully complete the final exam*
