Program Volunteers are asked to share their skills and knowledge with youth on a one-time or regular basis. Past program volunteers have led workshops on painting, woodburning, basketball, conflict management and yoga. Through the expertise of program volunteers, Routes is able to offer youth new experiences and interactions with community members. Conversely, Program Volunteers can gain experience in building programs, building rapport, communication, and much more. Program volunteers must be at least 20 years-old and complete a volunteer screening and orientation to work directly with youth.
Youth under 20-years-old may volunteer with Routes at fundraising events or community outreach events (scrap metal drive, leaf raking, Dundas Driving Park Fireworks, Rotary Club events) to complete high school volunteer hours.
