CLUBS & PROGRAMS
Routes Youth Centre offers a wide variety of structured and non-structured programs every month. For more information on what's going on at Routes this month, please consult our Program Calendar. You can read more about each of our standard program offerings below!
Youth interested in visiting Routes for the first time are welcome to drop by the centre and check out our space! If youth are interested in returning to Routes after their first visit, we ask that they return with a completed Intake Package.
Drop-In
Everyone welcome! Stop by to hang out, play a board game, colour or craft, meet new friends, and more! Routes offers a snack and meal for all youth every night.
Teen Drop-In is for youth ages 13+ only.
Workshops
Structured workshops provide youth with the valuable opportunity to try something new and learn new skills. The topics of these workshops have included trying new activities such as embroidery, calligraphy, and yoga, to developing useful life skills such as practicing healthy sleep habits, job search skills, and educational trivia nights.
Some workshops are designed for specific age groups and some require sign up in advance. See our monthly program calendars for more info!
Open Gym
Dedicated time to get your blood flowing through physical activity and play!
On Wednesdays, join Routes for non-structured physical activity from 3:45-5:15pm. On Fridays, stop by for a group game starting at 5:30pm before free play. At 7:30pm, Open Gym is for teens ages 13+.
Routes Youth Council
A monthly youth-led initiative, Youth Council is for youth ages 12+ to have their say in what youth-led programs and events happen at Routes throughout the year.
Positive Space
2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 11+ are invited to enjoy community, laughs, and discussion in a space exclusively for them. Past socials have included movie nights, painting, open mics, and more!
Cooking Club
Come by to learn a new recipe and have fun cooking or baking with friends while preparing a delicious treat for everyone to enjoy!
Cooking Club may include a trip down to the Dundas Farmers Market (June to October) to pick out a special ingredient while learning about financial and food literacy.
Games Club
Join us for Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) Club and for special board game nights! Games Club is reserved for youth 11+, unless specifically denoted otherwise on our program calendar.
Movie Night
On the last Thursday of every month, youth are invited to come watch an all-age movie at Routes. Popcorn is provided! A teen movie screening for youth ages 13+ will follow after dinner.
