CLUBS & PROGRAMS

Workshops

Structured workshops where youth have the opportunity to try something new and learn new skills. The theme of the workshops change, but can include anything from learning embroidery to how we can practice healthy sleep habits. 

Some workshops are designed for specific age groups and some workshops require youth to sign up in advance. Check out our monthly program calendars for more details!

2SLGBTQIA+ Positive Space

Youth ages 13-19 are invited to come talk about relevant issues, enjoy community, laughs and discussion in a safer space. 

Past socials have included movie nights, paint nights, open mics and more!

 Homework Support

Bring your homework and spend some time working through any questions you have with the Routes team! Periodically, youth will have the opportunity to engage with seniors at the community centre to support seniors digital literacy.

Drop-In

Anyone welcome (unless age specified) to enjoy non-structured programming. Come grab a snack, spend time with friends, play video games, do a craft or chat with supportive staff!

 Open Gym Nights

Dedicated time to try out some new sports and games in the gym! 

The Gym is open on Friday nights for structured and non-structured recreation, featuring McMaster University Varsity Athlete volunteers on some Friday nights.

Movie Night

Once a month, youth are invited to come watch an all-ages movie at Routes. Popcorn is provided!

Routes Youth Council

A youth-led initiative. Routes Youth Council discusses and organizes events, and makes decisions about what happens at their Centre. Youth Council is open to all youth ages 11+

Cooking Club

Youth are invited to join the team at Routes to learn a new recipe and have  fun while making a delicious snack! 

Cooking club may include trips to the farmers market (June-October) to pick out a secret ingredient, and a guest chef to teach youth new kitchen skills!

Games Club

Join us at Routes for board games, special tournaments, Dungeons & Dragons Club, and Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPG) Club facilitated by a Dungeons & Dragons expert! 


Dungeons & Dragons Club and TTRPG Club are both for ages 11+ unless otherwise specified.

Youth Employment Counselling

Youth have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an employment counsellor to work on a resume, cover letter and practice interview skills. We also offer specialized workshops with community partners to help youth prepare for each step of the employment process!

 Babysitting Course 

Learn about working with children through this interactive Babysitting Course. Covers infant and child care, planning fun activities, handling emergencies and much more.  Guest speakers join us and participants get opportunities for hands-on learning.

This course is offered during school breaks such as March Break and Summer holidays. The course costs $50 and includes lunch as well as a Canada Safety Council Babysitting Manual for participants to keep. All course fees support Routes to continue offering youth programs in Dundas. Subsidies available.
